Do you remember when you were a child, siting by the window, counting the minutes as the sun slowly set, waiting, and eager with anticipation, in the hopes of finally getting the chance to see Santa Claus? A word that the Inuit use to describe this is "iktsuarpok". The Inuit, more commonly known as Eskimos, are an Arctic indigenous group that predominantly inhabits Canada, and they use this word to convey the feeling of anticipation one has when they persistently look outside a structure to see if someone (usually expected) is coming.

Giving someone something because you feel like you have to, is a social courtesy that, especially in modern society, is becoming less important. Also known as jeong, this word does not have a direct translation in any language, however it is a significantly cultural word in Korea. It is used to describe a tender emotion, feeling of affection or attachment, though sometimes, it can have a negative connotation, and can sound sarcastic. For example, if one gave something to someone, even though they did not like them, it would be "because of jeong".

This word is a noun, and is very social/cultural specific word. Taarof  is used when someone says something to be polite, however doesn't mean what they say. For example, a friend is over for lunch, and before they leave, you tell them "don't leave, stay for dinner". Both the host and the guest understand that what is said, isn't interpreted to mean "stay for dinner". It should be mentioned that it is commonly used in hospitality scenarios.

Pronounce La, it is thought of as the western concept of the soul, specifically ones life force or mind tantra (tantra in this sense means the channels of energy Tibetans believe runs through the body). The beauty of this word lies in that bLa can leave the body, and possess  inanimate objects. The only way to return the bLa is by consulting a guru.
